Natick Little League is committed to bringing baseball and softball to the children of Natick with
the belief that youth baseball and softball has the power to teach life lessons that build stronger
individuals and communities. Our programs are managed and coached by volunteers who dedicate their time in making the league what it is day to day. It is the objective of Natick Little League to create an environment that is safe, provides an opportunity for all players to develop skills and game knowledge, allows players to experience the success they are capable of achieving and teaches life long lessons of sportsmanship, teamwork, fair play and respect for authority. It is the responsibility of all Natick Little League baseball and softball officials, including the board of directors, commissioners, managers, coaches, and umpires, to understand and fulfill these objectives.
Natick Little League expects all parties at a contest to display the highest possible level of sportsmanship. Players, coaches, parents and spectators should treat opponents, game officials and visiting spectators with respect. Cheer for your team, never against the opponent.
The Executive Director reserves the right to warn, censure, place on probation or suspend for a single game or up to one calendar year any player, parent, team, coach, to be acting in a manner contrary to the standards of good sportsmanship.
- Respect game officials, opposing teams, coaches, and league personnel while refraining from questioning their decisions in a disrespectful manner. This includes throwing of equipment, and dugout behavior. Foul language (choose your choice of words) or gestures that may be interpreted as hostile or humiliating, are not allowed on any fields at any time.
- Always follow the field rules and regulations that are outlined in league to league policies and protocols. Rules are for safety, fun and the good of the program.
- Fans, players and coaches are to conduct themselves with sportsmanship and maturity at all times and to assist when necessary for any unruly fan, coach or player.
- Always have respect for your team and opposing team both on and off the field. Treat the contest as a game, not a war. Never ridicule or yell at your own team or other participants for making a mistake or losing. Keep in mind they do not make these mistakes on purpose. Players should always try their best and be honest with all involved.
- Serve as a positive role model regardless of your age, be humble in victory as well as defeat. Remember, this is set up for the child to participate in a youth sport.
- Parents, please refrain from coaching on the sidelines during games or practices, unless you are one of the official team coaches.
- No smoking, alcohol, foul language (choose your choice of words) or gestures that may be interpreted as hostile or humiliating, are allowed on any fields at any time.
- Players and parents always let the coach know when a player can’t attend a game or practice.
- Coaches, make sure all players and parents know of scheduled games and practices.
- Make sure all areas around your bench, dugout (players/coaches) and your selected location to watch the game (parents) are cleaned up of papers, cans, bottles and any other trash.
KEEP IN MIND THE PRACTICE OF GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP IS FAR BETTER THAN THE PREACHING OF IT.
