The Natick Little League will offer a scholarship to a graduating senior or seniors at NHS once again for the class of 2020. An application will also be available at the NHS guidance office. The Natick Little League has given out over $10,000 in scholarships. Criteria An annual award to a deserving resident of the Town of Natick based on his/hers contribution to the Natick Little League baseball or softball program as displayed by his/hers sportsmanship, leadership, need, and general overall attitude. Playing ability is not an essential consideration for this award. The player/s must have participated throughout their potential availability age wise in the Little League program. Annual amount: Amount given is minimum of $500, but would not exceed $1,000 per player. Use of Scholarship Continuing education towards a degree program or to a vocational school. The funds are paid to the student. Selection Committee The Selection Committee will be comprised of: The Executive Director of the Natick Little League. A Natick Little League Board of Director who has the designation of a lifetime member. A Natick Little League Board of Director who is designated as the chairman of the Scholarship committee and two other people over the age of 21 that will be appointed by the aforementioned three board members. Process of Award: An eligible person meeting the above criteria and whose parent or guardian does NOT sit on the Board of Directors, or on the Selection Committee, prepare an application for scholarship, previously approved by the Selection Committee. The Request for Scholarship form, which includes the amount the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA) presents as the contribution from the student and parents. The FASFA amount will serve as the basis of need requirement for each student. The Selection Committee will be convened by the Chairman and the Scholarship (s) will be awarded based on majority vote. It is the intent of this award to be as close as unanimous as possible. Source of Funds From the cumulative net proceeds at the concession stand. Signage should be displayed communicating the use of proceeds for the supporters of the concession stand.
