Junior League softball is an instructional league that serves as an introduction to competitive softball with standings and playoffs. Players will be assigned to teams in an effort to form a competitively balanced league.
USA Softball Rules are modified at this level. Games are player pitched unless a walk occurs. After four balls the strike count continues, a coach comes in to pitch, and the at-bat is completed with a batted ball or a strikeout. There are limited steals allowed per inning and stealing home is not permitted. These and the additional rule changes all are intended to improve the speed of play and create games that are fair and balanced.
